It’s a Saturday night in Melbourne and the city is buzzing with excitement, something special is about to occur. A tribe of nearly two thousand strong descended on The Forum theatre in the heart of the city to witness the magic that was about to take place…

You could feel the energy in the room as Max and Iggor Cavalera prepared to to hit the stage and unleash the pure fury of Sepultura’s iconic 1996 album “Roots” in its entirety. The crowd on hand prepared themselves for the chaos that was about to  be unleashed!

Chaos is exactly what broke out as Max, Igor, Marc Rizzo and Fear Factory’s Tony Campos took the stage and ripped into Roots Bloody Roots, instantly whipping the crowd into a frenzy for an intense night of heavy music.
The excitement continued to rise as the band ripped through such hits including Roots Bloody Roots, Ratamahatta, Spit, Born Stubborn and Dictatorshit. The band also included covers of Celtic Frosts Procreation and Motorhead’s iconic anthem Ace of Spades before ending the night with a sped up version of Roots Bloody Roots!

When it was all said and done, everyone who had been in attendance knew they had witnessed something special. In this once in a lifetime show Return to Roots is one of those shows where you can proudly say “I was there”.
