Drowning Pool Review & Photos

Event: Drowning Pool
Date: 30/07/2016
Venue: Max Watts Melbourne

On a cold July night in Melbourne, the city was about to heat up as the metal family descend on Max Watts (Formerly the Hi-Fi Bar) as Texan metal Icons Drowning Pool return to Australian shores for the first time since 2002.

The air was thick with anticipation as fans rocked out to My Secret Circus and went crazy for the  thrash stylings of Witchgrinder. Every single person in the venue knew they were about to witness something magical.

After walking on stage and being greeted by a hyped up Melbourne crowd, Drowning Pool kicked off an epic 15 song set with the classic “Sinner” which worked the crowd into a frenzy!

The vocal crowd sang along to hits “Step Up”, “By The Blood”, “Reminded”, “Pity” and “Tear Away”. You can peep our exclusive photo’s from our very own camera girl Anna Tepper right here:

Jasen Moreno’s vocals gave the crowd an energy that channelled the late Dave Williams; bringing the late singers spirit to life from the track “Sermon” all the way through to the iconic “Bodies” which closed out a stellar set of Drowning Pool magic. Dave Williams will never be forgotten!

This was definitely a concert for the ages, a stellar mix of new tracks from Drowning Pool’s latest album “Hellelujah” and classic hits from “Sinner” and “Desensitized”. Do not pass up the chance to see Drowning Pool when they hit our shores again, as it is a concert experience you will never forget.
