You have to love them right?

Saturday June 25th, 2022 saw a few!

First time seeing Windwaker…

First time seeing Motionless In White…

First time seeing I Prevail…

First SOLD OUT show since covid…

And lastly but most importantly the FIRST time getting our awesome camera lady Nicole back taking photos at a show since covid shut the industry down for the best bit of two years. So how was it? Did it live up to the hype? The short answers are “Amazing” and “Yes”!

Seeing a line up for a show wrap right up and around the building was nothing short of bizarre. It feels like forever since I had been in that situation, the crowd buzzing with anticipation for what the night would bring. We entered The Forum (which features an awesome starlight roof piece setting, the perfect atmosphere) as Melbourne’s own Windwaker begun proceedings, a band I am not overly familiar with but now will definitely have to check out more. The highlight being vocalist “Will King” opening up the pit to a Britney Spears cover. Yes, it happened!

Up next Motionless In White took the stage, to be honest they were who I was looking forward to most having been a fan of them for many years. They did not disappoint opening up with “Disguise” and barely taking a breath throughout! With their latest album ‘Scoring The End Of The World’ Out being released just two weeks earlier, we were lucky enough to hear some new tracks including the epic “Cyberhex”. Chris Motionless is a born entertainer and it was showcased through out what seemed to be a ten minute set it flew by so quick!

Up next the headliner, Detroits own “I Prevail”. Epic! What more can I say?

Not being overly familiar with these guys they had me hooked from start to finish with the best set of the night! Definitely a must see live band featuring dual vocalists Brian Burkheiser and Eric Vanlerberghe. Opening up with “Bow Down”, this set the tone for the rest of the night! We were up and about and loving the fact that live music was finally back and in full effect. It was great to see Brian take time out to discuss “Breaking Down” a song about his battles with mental health and encourage anyone being in the same situation to get help. We were also amongst some of the first people in the world to see their brand new single “Body Bag” performed live, how great is that? A song that just last week featured on All Elite Wrestling! Yes, I Prevail are a band I have been sleeping on, but not anymore! Do your homework and check out their back catalogue, you won’t be disappointed!

Their new album ‘True Power” drops August 19th, pre save here: https://found.ee/iptruepower
