Melting sign to Greyscale Records

Here’s a great band to check out, “Melting” who describe themselves as “Sonic aggression made in Melbourne”!

Today it was announced they are the latest signing to Australia’s own Greyscale Records to accompany the announcement is a great new single in “874”:

If this is a sign of things to come we are in for an absolute treat.

After generating some buzz with three debut singles last year, Melting quickly attracted the attention of Greyscale, who are now proud to represent the four-piece. “Signing to GSR was something that kinda came out of nowhere,” says the band.

“It wasn’t on anyone in the band’s radar, so it felt incredibly humbling and validating to have the Greyscale crew reach out and take a punt on us. Everyone in the Greyscale family has been so supportive of our vision and the free rein they’ve given us to create the art that we want to create is such a breath of fresh air.”

Latest single 874 was borne from overwhelming feelings of isolation and frustration and encapsulates what makes Melting who they are, with its blend of relentless energy and nasty, sludgy riffs. “We knew we were onto something when we all heard the final version of the song, the collective feeling was ‘this is what we have been trying to make, this is Melting’. There was a moment where it felt like the direction was clear, like we found our bearings and that really came after we made 874.”

874 rounded out 2024 but paved the way for the next chapter of Melting, which is set to arrive soon. “2025 has already got our heads spinning in the best way possible. We have so many goals to tick off – but so many of them are already well on their way to happening!”

Melting’s Greyscale Records signing announcement makes them the second band to join the roster this year after DIESECT, and sees them join the company of leading names in the Australian alternative community alongside Alpha Wolf, Make Them Suffer, Diamond Construct, Paledusk (JPN), Casey (UK) and PROMPTS (JPN) to name just a few.
