When it comes to discovering great new bands, not many fall short of Sharptone Records. Over the years it has become the landing place for some of our favourite acts and they rarely miss the mark when it comes to undiscovered talent.
Enter dead7, a five piece group from St. Louis with a unique sound!
Check out their latest video “Blur”:
A synth groan murmurs beneath bouncy, syncopated vocals before dissolving under the weight of a brain-numbing distorted riff.
“Everything is so far away when it’s Armageddon every day,” singer Jason Kozik observes, capturing the chaos of life’s uncertainties.
“It incorporates a lot of what dead7 is,” he shares. “When we wrote it, we thought, ‘This is our sound. Here we are.’ Lyrically, it’s about trying to navigate life amidst personal struggles, relationships, and the overwhelming state of the world. It feels like a blur, and you’re just trying to survive.”
